In view of PM Modi’s “New India Manthan- Sankalp se Siddhi” (prosperity by resolution) the government of Uttarakhand has decided to hold a fair at Dehradun’s parade ground. Speaking to reporters at a press conference IAS Senthil Pandian said that the fair would be organized on 4th May. The government agriculture department in collaboration with International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) will organize the fair.
The New India Manthan program aims to double the income of farmers by the year 2022. The fair will give a chance for the farmers as well as firms working in the field of agriculture for a one on one interaction. It will also provide a platform for government organizations to promote their schemes for farmers. Talking to the reporters in Dehradun, IAS Senthil Pandian said that primarily women are involved in agriculture in the hilly regions of Uttarakhand and through this fair the government aims to make them aware of advances in agricultural technology as well as livestock management tips. The vent will begin from 11 AM onwards.
CM Rawat inagurates ‘Climate Resilient Mountain Agriculture Summit
Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, inaugurated the ‘Climate Resilient Mountain Agriculture Summit’ under the Uttarakhand Vibrant Undertaking Jalagam Development Project in FRI Dehradun on Wednesday. On this occasion, the Chief Minister honored 9 Gram Panchayats, who have done outstanding work in various fields such as village community participation, water harvesting and promotion, treatment of water resources etc. The Gram Panchayats who were honored were given the first prize for the Upper Talai of Raipur block of Dehradun and Dhauladevi block of Almora. While the second prize was conferred to the gram panchayat of Munsiyari Vikas block of Pithoragarh. In the program, Chief Minister also released ‘Climate Resilience Initiative’ book based on schemes related to rural development published by the Directorate of Water Management, Central and State Government.
