Governor’s golf tournament final to be played tomorrow

Participants of the 16th Governor’s Cup Golf tournament at Raj Bhawan Golf Course in Nainital exhibited good play on the second day of the tournament today.67 players took part today out of the 108 participants.

Governor Dr.K.K.Paul also came to the Golf Course and cheered the players and enjoyed the game.
Golf captain Col (Retd.) Harish Shah said that the players today played 18 holes ( Stableford format). The 42 players who are now on the cut-off list will play on the final day (tomorrow) and the winners will be selected on the basis of stroke play.

The Governor will award the winners with prizes at 4 p.m. tomorrow. Out of the 108 players , 6 are in the super veteran category (above 75 years ), 14 in the veteran (65 to 75 years) category, 61 in the general category ,8 in the women’s category and 19 in the under 18 category.

A cultural programme was held in the evening for the golfers at the state guest house at Nainital in which folk dances and songs of Garhwal, Kumaon, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana were presented.
