Tech giant Microsoft has introduced a limited bounty program. Under this, the company has announced a reward of 2 million and 50 thousand dollars (about Rs. 1 crore 62 lakh) on finding the fault of the company Meltdown and Spectre. According to Microsoft, the two flaws were found in January and this is important in the research field.
In January this year, a major drawback was found in Intel, AMD and ARM processors, named Spectre and Meltdown. For this, Microsoft released patches, because the most risk is on Microsoft computers.
Microsoft has said in its blog, “The atmosphere of Threat is changing and therefore we are launching the bounty program so that the researchers can be encouraged to find a new method of weakness.” Security Group Manager Philip Minsner said in Microsoft, “We hope that this research is already going on in which there will be new methods of attack”. They also say that such attacks are completely new.
The last date for this bug bounty program is December 31. This step taken by Microsoft will help to avoid such an attack in the future.
