Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has said that a decision has been taken that the dependents of soldiers from army and para-military forces, who sacrifice their lives while on duty, will be taken in state services based on their merit and qualifications.
He reiterated that the state government is fully committed to the welfare of soldiers and their families
He made the announcement at a function held on the occasion of 9th Raising day of PBOR Ex-servicemen Welfare Association at AMN Ghosh Auditorium, here on Sunday. While greeting officers and ex-servicemen of the Association, CM said that soldiers play an important role in serving the nation. Our ex-servicemen get retired at young age, but their energies can be utilised for development of the state. State government is going to develop 670 Gram Panchayats into Growth Centres, for which dedicated people are needed. Ex-servicemen can play an important role in this venture.
Chief Minister said that Indian Army has developed 7,000 saplings of walnut, which will be distributed in far-flung hilly areas of the state. This will increase the source of income of people living in remote areas.
MLA Ganesh Joshi and CMI Hospital president Padamshree Dr RK Jain were also present on the occasion.
