Festival of colours celebrated in UK

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has greeted the people of the state on the festival of Holi, here on Friday. He wished the people a prosperous and long life. Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the festival of Holi is one of the most pious festival of ‘Sanatan Dharma’ ,which gives a message of happiness and cheerfulness.

Rawat celebrated holi with people who had gathered at his official residence. He said that ‘Char Dhams’, Holy river Ganga and Himalayas are the pride of Uttarakhand state. Uttarakhand which is also known as ‘Devbhoomi’ has a unique cultural identity and everyone should work for the conservation and it’s propogation.

Most of the festivals of the country are based on agriculture, villages and nature as nature always creates. He specially congratulated the farming community on Holi and termed them as sustainer and “Gram Devtas’. He further said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi is determined to double the income of farmers in the coming years and many developmental schemes for farmers are being launched in the country.

Chief Minister Rawat played Holi with public representatives, officials and general public at his residence and exchanged festival greetings.

The festival of Holi ushers in  hope, excitement and intimacy and provides an occasion for better relationship and happiness. He further said that Holi festival also symbolizes good will, brotherhood, social integration and communal harmony. He appealed to the residents of the state to celebrate the festival with peace and harmony.
