CM flags off Mount Everest Mountaineering Campaign-2018

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat flagged off a 15-member team of Uttarakhand Police led by IG Sanjay K Gunjyal for the “Mount Everest Mountaineering Campaign -2018”, at a function held at Dehradun on Thursday.

Chief Minister wished the police team going on Mount Everest expedition and hoped that the police team will definitely scale the summit of Mount Everest. He said that since ages the Himalayas are a subject of curiosity for writers, environmentalists, geographers and mountaineers. He said that mountaineering crew going to Mount Everest will have to move forward with patience, courage and single minded goal. He said that during the Everest climb, the team will get many experiences, which will prove to be useful to mountaineers in the coming days. He said that it is not difficult to achieve any goal provided that there was complete devotion to achieve it. CM flagged off the team from Dehradun with the National flag and a flag of Uttarakhand Police.

DGP Anil Raturi said that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country, whose police force is attempting to scale Mount Everest. The morale of the Uttarakhand police will increase after successfully climbing Mount Everest. Uttarakhand police will be motivated to work in inaccessible areas and in difficult situations. He said that it is the obligation of uniformed organizations to take risks in favor of public interest.

Present on the occasion were Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash, Principal Secretary Anand Vardhan, Secretary Amit Negi, ADG Ashok Kumar, RS Meena, B Vinay Kumar and many other senior police officials.
