Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat participated in a program organized to express gratitude of Prime Minister Narender Modi for granting a huge package for farmers in budget 2018 at CM House on Saturday.
Cm expressed gratitude of Prime Minister Modi, Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley and Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh for presenting a budget dedicated to villages, farmers, workmen and weaker sections of the society.
CM said that Rs 6000 crore have been granted to Uttarakhand for agriculture and related departments. Rs 145 crore have been granted for setting up cold storage chain for food processing sector. Rs 1509 crore have been approved for cluster based approach and organic farming for next three years. Farm machinery banks have been increased from 70 to 370 considering the promotion of farming based on scientific method. Rs 2600 crores have been approved for co-operative committees with the help of NSDC.
He said that it has been provisioned in this budge that 3 crore electric tube wells would be converted into solar pumps. Through the initiative farmers will not have to depend on electricity for water in future. Bamboo has been categorized in crop class now. Now, farmers can earn good income through bamboo production. World’s largest health insurance scheme will benefit the people now. 50 crore people of the country have been covered with health insurance scheme worth rupees 05 lakh. Free gas connection to 08 crore women will be given under the Ujawala scheme.
