Winter kits distributed among students

As part of corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) UPES has provided a ‘Winter Kit’ – consisting of a woolen tracksuit, a woolen inner set, two pairs of socks and a pair of shoes, to all students of 08 Government Primary Schools located within the vicinity of its Bidholi campus.

300 students from Paundha, Upper Kandoli, Bishenpur, Kharakhet, Bidholi, Dunga, Masraspatti & Bakarna primary schools were presented with a ‘Winter Kit’ by the state education minister Arvind Pandey, UPES chancellor Dr S.J. Chopra and UPES Director Arun Dhand at the ‘Winter Kits Distribution Ceremony’ organized by UPES.

Complementing the UPES-CSR Team for the diligence & commitment, Pandey said that he can clearly visualize the heart that has gone in supporting the government schools and their students. He expressed his keen desire to visit the University again in near future. Dr. Deependra Jha, Vice Chancellor – UPES felicitated the ‘Chief Guest’ with a Shawl and informed that the University has now also decided to extend academic support to these primary schools particularly in the subjects of Mathematics & English.

Dhand shared the journey of the University since its inception while also emphasizing the need of community support in the field of primary education as a part of the ‘social responsibility’ by organizations, particularly those from the educational background. He briefed that UPES had recently concluded execution of infra-support amounting to Rs. 10 lakhs in 07 Primary Schools successfully in the month of December 2017.

The Principals, Teachers and Bhojan-matas of these primary schools were felicitated with ‘Draping of a Shawl’ by the Chief Guest, Chancellor UPES, Director CSR – UPES and members of the UPES-CSR Volunteer Team while acknowledging their respective contribution towards molding the young children as educated righteous citizens. The visiting students presented many enthralling group performances during the event that drew a huge applause from the gathering.

Other dignitaries including Megh Singh – Zila Panchayat Member; Pankaj Sharma – Block Education Officer; Jagmohan Chauhan – CRC; Shakti Prasad Jagudi – CRC; Principals, Teachers, Bhojan-matas & Students of the primary schools and Gram Pradhans & Up-Gram Pradhans of the villages of the said primary school were present there. Also present on the occasion were the UPES-CSR Team which included Dr. Shweta Sachdeva; Dr. Bhawna Lamba; Dr. Niharika Singh; Dr Alka Dwivedi; Dr. Shikha Dimri; Dr, Jitendra Pandey; Dr Vinay Awasthi; Ms Pooja Gupta and Ms Shivani Dhiman.
