Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat was shown a presentation related making and use of Shivnsh compost by the Hans Foundation at CM House on Saturday.
The officers of the Agriculture and Horticulture Department were given detailed information about the compost so that method for making this fertilizer can be passed to the farmers. CM Rawat said that farmers should be made aware of using latest technology and modern methods in farming. To encourage farmers to increase productivity and prefer organic farming along with imparting information on high yielding varieties should be emphasised.
The representatives of the Hans Foundation informed that the Shivnsh compost is prepared in 18 days. The farmers can prepare this manure themselves and increase the income up to 10 times. This organic fertilizer can increase agricultural production by 15 to 40 percent.
Using manure requires less water for irrigation. This compost is made by mixing the correct proportion of dry leaves , green grass and dung.
On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Subodh Uniyal, Additional Secretary Dr Meharban Singh Bisht, Agriculture Director, Gauri Shankar, Lalit Kumar Adhikari and Vinod Kumar of Hans Foundation and Chief Agriculture Officers and Horticulture Officials of all the districts were present.
