Following the tradition set up by the prime minister Narendra Modi and union home minister Rajnath Singh, state Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat celebrated Republic Day with ITBP soldiers in Nelong Post of Uttarkashi on Friday. He hoisted the flag in Nelong. He spent time with soldiers to encourage them and also distributed sweets. The soldiers expressed happiness over seeing the CM and said that the zeal and courage for the work will go up further by this.
CM Rawat said that the soldiers of the country are serving in these adverse conditions, so that we can breathe freely. Nelong region is strategically and naturally very important. At the height of 11614 feet, the youth are serving the Himalaya and the country as conscious guard, at around 0.05 degree Celsius. During the any disaster in the area soldiers are working as first Responders. He appreciated the relief and rescue work done by these Himalayan braves. The ITBP jawans also remarkably contribute in social work along with their duties. The Central Government has made many efforts for the welfare of ITBP soldiers. ITBP has been equipped with modern resources to enable young soldiers to be more capable of future challenges. Modern equipment, optical equipment, telecommunication facilities have been provided to the soldiers.
CM Rawat said that all the check posts of ITBP will be connected by road, for this, construction of roads in border areas is going on. He assured the soldiers that the work of road connectivity from Border Area in Uttarakhand will be completed soon. He said that dependents of martyrs will be employed by the state government on the basis of educational qualification.
