The Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated a ‘Kill Waste Machine’ during a program ‘From Rispana to Rishiparna’ organized for cleaning Rispana River at near Vidhan Sabha, Dehradun. The program was jointly organized by Eco Task Force and Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Center on Friday. The CM also launched a Mobile Application for the resuscitation of Rispana River. The app developed by USERC can be downloaded from Google Play Store.
In his address, CM said that strong political will power and extensive public participation were required for the revival of Rispana. The government is committed for the resuscitation of Rispana and Kosi Rivers. Massive cooperation of the public is required for the cleanliness campaign and the revival of rivers. Public support in very large scale is required to complete the task to clean the entire stretch of the Rispana River from head to tail in a day. For this, people of all age groups will have to give their active support. Junior Eco Task Force has also been set up by the government to add the children with the sanitation and environmental conservation programs.
The CM Rawat said that population is increasing rapidly. We need to think from now about the water management for the future. It is necessary to collect rainwater. Government is considering on supplying gravity based drinking water for Dehradun city and its surroundings population.
