A Secretary of Uttarakhand government has written a letter to the home department and alleged that he and his family are facing threat. Taking cognizance on it home department has constituted a committee to review his threat and provide security accordingly. Talking to mediaperson the secretary D Senthil Pandian said “it is his personal matter so he would not speak anything on it except that he has given a letter to the home department regarding his threat.” Even Principal secretary Anand Vardhan has ascertained that he has received a letter from him and sent to the police for appropriate action.
It has raised question mark over the timing of the complaint because he had conducted the investigation in March 2017. If the caller has given threat then he should have been given the threat during investigation but investigative officer got threat after six months of his enquiry. Sources said that the allegedly guilty officer might have been trying to prove the investigation report was wrong and the officer was having mala-fide intention. with this they might have been trying to cover up the matter.
Pandian, who had conducted enquiry on NH-74 scam and later chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had referred the case to CBI with a note that he has started crusade against the corruption so does not bother even if his own person become victim of it, has submitted a written complaint before chief secretary and Home department. In which he has expressed that he and his families are facing threat so he sought security against the threat.
Talking to www.dainiknation.com a senior police officer said that a day before a woman belong to Rudrapur, Udhamsinghnagar had made allegation against the officer in media and now the officer has written a letter to home department. In prima facie evidence indicates that the officer might have taken this step as precautionary measure. If somebody has threatened him then who will get benefit out of this? If the secretary is really having threat then he should have received the threat during investigation. He got such threat after six months of his investigation. As we know the enquiry report has been submitted and the report has been referred to CBI and SIT too. Reason may be anything but this is unique case because first time in Uttarakhand history an IAS officer has lodged complaint that he has been facing threat.
This incident has created uproar in Uttarakhand and PCC president Preetam singh said that now you see how much law and order situation has deteriorated in so called double engine led BJP government? We were consistently saying this but now this incident has ascertained our claim.
