jhanda mela to begin by march 17

With the hoisting of holy flag the famous Jhanda fair would start on March 17. The representatives of the Darbar Sahib claim that one million devotees are expected to attend the fair.

Fair officer of Darbar Sahib, Bhagwati Prasad Saklani, informed that all arrangements for the stay of the devotees have been made . “Arrangements have been made at the various Shri Guru Ram Rai Public Schools branches like Talab, Patel Nagar, Bhandari Bagh, Raja Road for Sangats to stay. Around a dozen ‘langar’ (feast) places have also been prepared. In order to ensure the security arrangements, the ‘Mela Thana’ (Police Station for the Fair) will also come into existence from March 15 onwards,’’ he said.
