“Despite being denied parole to attend my mother’s last rites during the Emergency, we are now labeled as dictators by the Congress,” Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reveals the untold saga of the 1975 Emergency.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reiterated that he was denied Parole for Mother’s Last Rites during Emergency. Now same congress is making allegation of Hypocrisy. In an interview with ANI, Singh recounted his 18-month-long imprisonment during the Emergency, highlighting that he was denied parole to visit his ailing mother and could not attend her last rites. Rejecting the opposition’s claims, Singh stated, “those who imposed dictatorship through Emergency, they accuse us of being dictatorial.” As a former BJP chief and Union Home Minister from 2014 to 2019, Singh emphasized his role as the convenor for Mirzapur-Sonbhadra during the JP Movement against the Emergency, which lasted from June 1975 to March 1977.
