MeT issues an yellow-hued warning for UK


The State Meteorological Centre has issued an alert of hailstorm and squall in Uttarakhand including Dehradun, Haridwar, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar, Champawat and Pithoragarh districts on Wednesday. As per the alert the speed might reach up to 50-60 kmph and even might rise up to 70 kmph.

The centre has also given a yellow-hued warning of heavy rainfall and snowfall in hills including Nainital, Champawat and Pithoragarh districts on Wednesday.

Light to moderate rain, thunderstorm and snow are likely to occur at most of the places of the state. Snowfall is likely to occur at places with an altitude of 2000 meter and above.

In Dehradun, the climate would be partly or generally cloudy on Wednesday. Rain and thunderstorm accompanied by hail and squall is likely to occur in some parts of the city. The maximum and minimum temperature would be around 17 degree Celsius and 8 degree Celsius respectively.
