UK CM says Mahakumbh to be held in 2021

On the pious occasion of Paush Purnima, Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, participated in Prayagraj Kumbh Parva on Monday. He visited the Kumbh area and took stock of the arrangements of the Mela. He took blessings from the Sant Samaj and met the President and general secretary of the Akhada Parishad. Chief Minister extended the invite to representatives of various Akhada’s and Sant Samaj to come to the second Maha Kumbh of this century to be held in Haridwar in year 2021.

Chief Minister said that Devbhoomi has a tradition of “Atithi Devo Bhava”. Discharging our responsibility of fulfilling this great tradition, it is our effort to provide the necessary facilities to the devotees coming from India and abroad in the second Maha Kumbh of this century in Haridwar. In this regard, necessary arrangements will be made by taking suggesting from the representatives of Sant Samaj and all the Akhada’s. Chief Minister said that before the year 2021, the Char Dham road project will be completed in Uttarakhand and a lot of work of Rishikesh-Karnprayag railway line will also been complete. With this, the devotees coming to the Maha Kumbh can also get Uttarakhand’s Char Dham darshan in a convenient manner.

Chief Minister said that preparations for the Maha Kumbh to be held in Haridwar in the year 2021 have been started. The officers of the Police Department have been instructed to give top priority to the management and security arrangements of pilgrims coming in crores in the Kumbh Mela.

Chief Minister said that successful organizing the Maha Kumbh 2021 in Haridwar is our priority and its arrangements have been already started. Ring road is proposed in Haridwar for Maha Kumbh. All departments have been asked to arrange their budget and resources in time. Alternative bridges etc. are being planned for the arrival of Peshwai.

Chief Minister said that for initially for 2021 Kumbh, a total of Rs 2200 crore works are being proposed, in which most of the work will be of permanent nature. The whole Mela area is approximately 130 sq km. Land of Haridwar, Dehradun, Tehri and Pauri districts will come in the Mela area.

On this occasion, Urban Development Minister Madan Kaushik, MLA Anand Chauhan, Industrial Advisor to Chief Minister KS Panwar, Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh and Secretary Tourism Mr. Dilip Jawalkar and OSD to Chief Minister Abhay Rawat were also present.
