Navy officer and colleagues assaulted in Nainital

Navy officers and his three companions, who arrived in Nainital, were attacked on Monday night. Tourists were having a dispute about toll tax with Lake Bridge taxpayers at eleven o’clock in the night.
The debate started with heated argument and soon snowballed into a fight. The allegation is that the taxpayers attacked with cookers, sticks and pliers, in which the heads of the three including the Navy officer were injured. After the incident, the toll collecters escaped from the spot. The police has admitted the injured to the BD Pandey District Hospital.

Nehru Colony Dehradun resident Navy officer Ankit Sharma came to visit Nainital with his friends Suresh Kaushik, Arpesh Kaushik and Abhishek Sharma.

On Monday night, they reached the Lake Bridge toll collection at Tallital. There was anargument between both sides regarding toll money here. It is alleged that when the dispute increased, then the taxpayers attacked them fiercely.

All the police personnel including Tallital police station SI Manoj Singh Nahal, SI UC Sati, Constable Sumit reached the spot. Two youths got stitches on their heads. Police say that no complaint has been recieved as yet. At present, two youths have been detained by the police.
