Inflation we got in Heritage from UPA

In a bid to embarrass the treasury bench opposition opposition used their all kind of strategy on tuesday. Initially they created uproar and later they walk out from the house. They raised the issue of increasing price of petroleum product and demanded from the state to make some changes in VAT to check the price rise.

As the house begins then leader of opposition Indira Hridayesh demanded petroleum product price rise under section 31o but speaker premchand aggarwal assured her that he would listen the issue under section 58 of house proceedings. Then she allowed house to have question hour.

After lunch, opposition raised the petroleum product price rise and said that crude oil price is 40 percent cheaper than the UPA regime but price of petrol and diesel are being sold higher than earlier. To provide succour to the people there is a need to include petroleum product under GST regime. Although state finance minister Prakash Pant strongly objected this demand and presented the state government stand emphatically.

Pant said that when PM Narendra Modi took charge then petrol and diesel price were Rs 74.94 and Rs 61.55 per litre. During UPA regime between 2004-14, petrol price reached Rs 74.94 from Rs 39.51 per litre and similarly diesel price situation. Price rise we got from UPA regime as heritage. As far as other goods price are concerned then we have been monitoring closely and putting all precautionary measures to check price rise.
