CM unveils logo of kumbh


Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat unveiled the logo and website of the Gyan Kumbh at the Media Center, Secretariat on Saturday. For brainstorming regarding upliftment of higher education, Gyan Kumbh will be organised in Haridwar on November 3 & 4. President will inaugurate the Gyan Kumbh. For the first time in the country, the Gyan Kumbh is being organized at such a comprehensive level of discussion on higher education. Chief Minister said that education has been an integral part of our social development. Today, the scope of higher education is spreading rapidly. But the quality of education is not being given much attention. Therefore, it is being felt today that there should be new experiments in higher education but the basic qualities of education should not be affected, its quality can be maintained. With the aim of improving the quality of higher education and making it researched based with innovative thinking, Gyan Kumbh 2018 is being organized.

Chief Minister said that the Gana Kumbh will be organized at Haridwar on 3-4 November 2018 and it will be inaugurated by the Honorable President of India. He said that in the Gyan Kumbh, there will be brainstorming about the present situation of higher education and its future. It will be attended by the intellectuals coming from different parts of the country and the vice-chancellors from mamy universities. The objective of organizing Gyan Kumbh in Haridwar is that the Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has been the center of culture, civilization and Vedic education. In today’s era, when western countries are turning towards Vedic culture of India, why not we should implement this great tradition in our lives.

It is necessary to have a good environment and friendly atmosphere for higher education. In the Gyan Kumbh, the outcome of the brainstorming by experts from the field of education will surely help in the development and improvement of higher education. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also said that there should be three qualities in education – good thoughts, ethics and culture. If there will not be good morals in education, then it will not lead to creation but towards devastation. Therefore, it is also important to have good thoughts and values in the field of education. Chief Minister said that the brainstorming by the wise men, which will be held at Patanjali Yogpeeth situated in Kumbhnagari on the banks of Ganga river, will definitely give energy and new direction to higher education.

Minister of State for Higher Education Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that this event of Gyan Kumbh is the first of its kind in India. It will be graced by all the Higher Education Minister of all states of India, Higher Education Secretary, Vice Chancellor of all the Universities, all IITs, NITs, IIIT and Director/President of all educational institutions. Principals of all Colleges located in Uttarakhand, educationalist who have done remarkable work in their respective fields and meritorious students will participate in it. This conference, which is being organised for the upliftment of the higher education will surely provide strength to the qualitative improvement in higher education. Dr. Rawat said that an effective initiative for upliftment of state and higher education has been taken. Our initiative has been appreciated by the UGC. Under RUSA, Uttarakhand has been sanctioned the highest amount of grant. Today, 93% of our colleges have complete faculty. Soon, principals will be posted along with the arrangement of faculty in all the colleges.
