Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh has sought support from the various government employees’ organizations to achieve the targets set for 2020. Speaking during a meeting held at secretariat on Tuesday with the various government employees associations, the Chief Secretary said that the state government employees have played an important role in the formation of the state and there contribution now should be towards the development of the state too. The target to provide electricity, water, roads, Internet and other facilities to every village has been set to 2020 when the state would complete its twenty years.
He appealed to the employees that they should pledge to achieve the targets set for 2020 in 2019. State despite being small, with limited resources, disaster prone and a forest state, it is an employer state. Uttarakhand was one of the first state to give the salaries according to seventh pay commission while there are states where the sixth pay commission recommendation have not yet been implemented.
State government, the interests of the employees was the topmost priority and it is committed to give better facilities to the people of the state, for which we all have to work in unison. Chief Secretary discussed point wise the demands of the employees’ organizations and assured them that he would look into those demands that can be met. For other demands, he said that he would get them investigated by justice, finance and personnel department.
The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary personnel Radha Raturi, Secretary to Chief Minister Radhika Jha, Additional Secretary Finance Arunendra Singh Chauhan, media coordinator Chief Minister Darshan Singh Rawat and members form various employees’ organizations.
