The Uttarakhand Governor Dr KK Paul today gave away the prizes to the winners of the first inter-university quiz competition held at Uttarakhand Technical University. This competition was held on the directions of the Governor. Doon University’s team was the winner in the grand finale. Uttarakhand Technical University stood second.
Congratulating the winners and all the participants, the Governor said that taking part in such events enhanced the confidence of students which helps them achieve success in their careers. Such moments become memorable in life.
He said that when competitions are held in universities and colleges, an atmosphere of positivity and enthusiasm was created and gives rise to healthy competition. He said that in future, an All India Quiz competition can be organized in which students of other states can participate.
The Governor said that the internet was the biggest source of information but it was important to be careful about the wrong and misleading information avilabale on it. Other sources should be used to verify it.
He said that there was a difference between knowledge and information. Information answers the “what” and “who” while knowledge tells us the “how” of things.
The competition was organized jointly by UTU and Doon University. In the grand finale, the teams were UTU, Doon University, HNB Uttarakhand Medical Education University and Uttarakhand Ayurveda University. Doon University won with 85 points, UTU was second with 75 points. HNB Medical Education university was third.
Present on the occasion were UTU VC Dr US Rawat, HNB Uttarakhand Medical university VC Prof HS Dhami and Doon University’s VC Dr CS Nautiyal.
