UT administration to celebrate IWD on March 8


Chandigarh Administration and Municipal Corporation, are going to celebrate international women day on the theme of Mahila ho sashakt toh desh ho swachh at sector 17 plaza on March 8

A campaign by Police Department, UT Chandigarh is being organized during the celebrations. A Cultural Musical Evening LIVE by Miss Pooja, a renowned Punjabi Singer will also be organized on International Women’s Day on 8th March at Plaza, Sector 17, Chandigarh.

During the celebrations of Rose Festival, Gippy Grewal had performed for a short time due to hail stone and heavy rainfall. However, he waited back stage for half an hour. Later, told by his sound technician that sound system cannot work as everything filled up with water and the same can cause fire and even lead to short circuit which can harm public/tourists and then Gippy Grewal left the place as it was not possible to perform on February 24 i.e. second day of Rose Festival.

Due to short performance Grewal has decided and agreed to re-perform free of cost for the Chandigarh Administration on 9th March 2018 in Plaza, Sector 17, Chandigarh and has requested his fans/loved ones and general public to be part of the event and celebrate International Women’s Day at Plaza, Sector 17, Chandigarh.
