Mahar board celebrates its 70th raising day

5 Mahar board have celebrated its 70th Raising day at Balawala Dehradun on March 28. During this celebration they shared their experience of service tenure.

Battalion’s senior soldier Capt Jeet Singh said that 5 Mahar boards were raised on March 23, 1948. During 70 years long tenure board has achieved lot. They have received several medals and citation for their commendable work. Batallion has served in Somalia under the banner of international peace keeping force. During this period one JCo and six soldiers sacrificed their life while discharging their duty and several soliders were injured seriously.

They had invited PBOR officials as guest. PBOR president Shamsher Singh Bisht apprised them about the ongoing welfare schemes of union and state government for the ex-servicemen.

Other Honorary capt BP Purohit, Capt Bhagat Singh Rana, PBOR general secretary Capt RD Shahi, Vinod Pal addressed them. The programme compered by Capt Kailash Chandra.

Others including Capt Darban Singh, YD Sharma, SM Kamal Singh Negi, Subedar Guman Singh Gusein, Capt Ram Lal, Capt Surendra Singh Bisht, Capt Ramesh Rawat, Hawaladar Veerendra Singh, Satyapal Singh, Capt Jaiveer Singh Rawat, Subedar Lal Singh, Capt Alam singh, Subedar Kedar Singh, H Asharam and others along with their families were present there.
