In a bid to check migration and to make Gairsain as permanent capital of the State, a new political outfit ‘Uttarakhand Parvateeya Vikas Party’ (UPVP) has formed here in Dehradun on Saturday. Girish Chandra Ishtwal and Narda Chand Baluni are the patrons of the new outfit while Vijay Kumar Baudai was unanimously chosen as the president of the newly formed party. SD Pant and Prahlad Singh Bisht have been appointed as convener and senior vice-president while senior journalist Kailash Joshi has been appointed as media in-charge of the party.
Interacting with mediaperson here on Saturday, Baudai said that both Congress and BJP have failed to address the problem the people of state in last 17 years. They are least bother about the burning issue of the state.
The problems of migration from the hills, corruption and others are assuming grimmer proportions with time. Besides, the emotive demand of the shift of the capital from Dehradun to Gairsain is being kept hanging fire for years,” he said.
We are particularly worried over the unabated migration which is threatening to finish off the “mountainous part’ of the State. No effort would be spared on our part to film up a comprehensive plan to take on the monumental issue head-on.
