Kedarpuri to develop in grand form; CM

DAINIK NATION BUREAU

The Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has categorically asked to develop Kedarpuri, a surrounding of Kedarnath shrine, in grand form. The ambiance at the temple and surrounding areas should be such that pilgrims can have one of the best experiences of their life. The focus should be on the convenience and safety of the pilgrims, local priest and residents too.

During the presentation made in front of the Chief Minister a model plan of the Kedarnath reconstruction was shown by the officials. The plan was drafted on the basis of latest survey conducted during the last two weeks. As per the plan, the Kedarnath area has been divided into six zones with detailed description of all facilities including infrastructural facilities for pilgrims, priest and local residents.

Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh instructed them to laid all the electricity lines, potable water pipelines, communication lines, sewerage and other such facilities in underground ducts. The sewerage lines will pass along the outer periphery of the pilgrimage area to the sewerage treatment plant. you complete it by May 2018. Currently they have been building infrastructure in view of 25000 people including 20000 pilgrims and 5000 locals. The other department concerned including irrigation, potable water and tourism will review the plan and give their feedback on it.

Ironically, PM Modi has visited Kedarnath twice. During his last visit to Kedarnath, a day before closing of Kedarnath shrine, had inaugurated five projects. Later he was briefed by the chief secretary at airport when he had visited to address IAS trainee at LBS National Administrative Academy, Mussoorie. Since then he has been personally monitoring the progress through video conferencing and said that he would monitor the development through drone in the month of March 2018. With this statement PM has given knee jerk to everyone including chief minister and bureaucrat.
