Keep a tab on competitor’s strategy; ED of Lenovo


UPES organized a day long conclave MARCON-2017 and its theme was “Innovative Digital Marketing for Brand Building” here in its campus today. Its objective was to discuss the various parameters which are relevant and form an integral part of designing innovative digital marketing campaigns.

While sharing his thoughts on the evolving nature of digital platforms Lenovo India, Executive Director Sudipto ghosh stressed on the need to be constantly aware and alert to the competitor’s strategy. Other speakers discussed at length the emerging trends in digital marketing on product brand building also shared numerous contemporary examples in the domain of brand building through the digital platform. The speaker included Prof Mithleshwar Jha, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Jain University & former Professor at IIM – Bangalore & Lucknow; Dr Kumkum Bharti, Assistant Professor , IIM – Kashipur & Dr Vinay Sharma, Associate Professor, IIT- Roorkee.

Dr D N Pandey, Director, College of Management, UPES in his welcome address stressed on the urgent need to evolve and develop innovative marketing strategies to ride the Digital India thrust and also shared details of the academic courses being offered by UPES in this domain

Director Media Arun Dhand shared that the participants included students from IIT-Roorkee, MIT & Flame University both from Pune, Narsimonjee Institute of Management, Mumbai apart from the students of the school of Business, UPES. Competitive events were conducted amongst the participating students for designing innovative digital marketing campaigns in various categories which included Mobiles, Petro-Retailing, Airports, Hotels and Clean Ganga. The team comprising of Ms Mansi Peshwani & MS Sakshi Uniyal of Flame University bagged the first position while the team of Ankitesh, Akashit, Prashant & Saransh of UPES took away the second prize. The Third Position was also taken by the UPES student team comprising Ms Richa Joshi, Ms Chandani Saxena & Ms Prakurti Jain he informed.

The organizing team led by Dr Sunil Barthwal, HoD of Marketing and supported by Dr Karunakaran Jha, Dr Ankur Rastogi, Dr Anita Sengar and Dr Devkant Kala along with the student volunteers of school of Business, UPES which included Rishab Mahajan, Adithya Ruthwik, Pratik, Suyash Jain & Suresh. The conclave also saw the presence of Dr S K Pokhriyal & Dr Atul Razdan, Associate Deans of the post graduate and undergraduate courses in the Business schools at UPES.
