20 killed; many injured in Las Vegas shootout

At least 20 people were killed and 100 others injured at a mass shooting at a country music festival in Las Vegas, the BBC reported on Monday. Multiple people are being treated for bullet wounds at a nearby hospital.

Las Vegas police confirmed that one suspect has been neutralised. They advised people to avoid the area near Mandalay Bay Casino.

TV visuals showed concertgoers ducking for cover. Witnesses said they heard machine gunfire and people screaming for help.
Witnesses on social media said the shooting broke out on the last night of the three-day Route 91 Harvest festival, a sold-out event attended by thousands and featuring top acts such as Eric Church, Sam Hunt and Jason Aldean.
