RIMC won Doon school junior soccer championship-2017


Rashtriya Indian Military College Junior Soccer team lifted the coveted Doon School Junior Soccer Championship trophy on saturday.

In an exciting final match RIMC bulldozed the rival Welham Boys School by 6-0 and clinched the title of Winners of Doon School Jr Soccer Cup.  Cdt Jodha scored three goals and Cdt Nshkal and cadt Aditya scored one goal each.

RIMCollian cadets has had an exciting journey to the top position, They played with Doon School & Summer valley in their own pool. They beat Summer Valley School by mammoth 11-0.

The quarter final match appeared to be a cake walk for cadets of RIMC and the thrashed Grace Academy by 8-0.

Cadets  stormed their entry in to the finals by defeating Wyneberg Allen the defending champion of the tournament by 4-1 .  After going down by a goal in 1st minute, RIMC Juniors emerged as outright champions leveling and scoring regularly and stormed into finals to play against the Welhams. Incidentally, last year RIMC  had lost  to the Wyneberg Allen in the finals.

Col Vivek Sharma Commandant RIMC and Upasana Sharma the first lady of RIMC  too were present to cheer up the team of RIMC. Others who were present enthuse josh in the RIMCOLLIAN cadets were Sqn Ldr Hari, who mentored the team right from the beginning and brought boys to this level, House Masters UP Dalvi & PN Naik, Dean of Sports Birjesh Chauhan, Asst Dean of Sports Dr Shyam.

It appeared the kids faculty members had foreseen the victory, Astha, Naina, Lakshya, Shranya & Shreyansh relentlessly cheered for the home team that grew more intense as finally they clinched the trophy.

Headmaster Doon  Matthew Raggett School appreciated the grit and determination of cadets of RIMC, he also appreciated young cheering squad of RIMC comprising Astha, Naina, Lakshya, Shranya & Shreyansh.
