Presiding over the Raksha Sutra programme organised by BJP in Sewa ashram on Friday, the state urban development minister Madan kaushik said that Raksha bandhan festival gives message of love and bon-homie amongst people.
He further said that BJP government was determined to work for the welfare of women. Many women centric welfare schemes were being run by the state government. In one of such schemes, an amount of Rs.51000 is deposited for the girl from her birth till she becomes eligible for marriage in the form of FDR by the state government to give economic independence to women.
He also said that for the beautification of the city, special efforts were being made. For the youth Skill India centre in SIDCUL was in the offing by the government for the development of the youths.
Addressing the people, city mayor Manoj Garg said that the programme was organised just to honour the womanhood and the BJP government also kept the women folk as front runner.
