DMs told to send demands of individual toilet to govt

Secretary (In-charge) Urban Development, Radhika Jha instructed all the District Magistrates that list of the demand of individual toilets to be made available to the Directorate of Urban Development, Dehradun by completing the survey of the demand of personalized domestic toilets in all the 92 Local Bodies in the state before August 31.

Jha said that community toilets to be provided within the purview 500 meters to those who do not have land personal toilet. Public toilets must be constructed within a radius of 1 km in commercial establishments, trading markets etc. She said that if the demand for public toilets is increased from the point of view of tourism then the demand of public toilets to be made available on the basis of the availability of land to the Directorate of Urban Development.

She instructed that it should be made sure that land availability proposal must be made available to the Directorate of Urban Development. She directed that 100% door-to-door garbage collection and implantation of user charges must be insured in all local bodies by 31st December, 2017. she further said that PMU has been constituted at the Directorate level of the Urban Development for the implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission.
