BHEL successfully dispatches 800 MW Generator

Once again BHEL Haridwar has earned a remarkable achievement with the successful manufacturing and dispatch of indigenously manufactured 800 MW Turbo Generator. Executive Director (HEEP) Shri Prakash Chand formally dispatched the Generator by waving the ceremonial green flag. This generator is being supplied for Gadarwara Thermal Power Project of National Thermal Power Corporation.
Prakash Chand describing it as a major step towards our PM’s vision of “Make in India” said that the supercritical generator requires high level of precision and craftsmanship for its manufacture. He attributed this success to BHEL’s dedicated and skilled workforce.
It is noteworthy that this is the highest capacity generator for NTPC being manufactured in India and generates voltage of 27 KV. In this generator hollow steel conductors have been used to replace copper. It is worth mentioning that design, manufacture and testing work of this generator has been done completely in Haridwar unit. For transportation of this generator special axle of 16 lines are used &for crossing the bridges, latest Girder Bridge technology will be used.
On this occasion General Manager (EM) RU Prasad, General Manager (CDX & Commercial) IJS Sandhu including other General Managers, Additional General Manager RK Chokhani, representative of Unions & associations along with huge number of other senior officials and employees were present on the venue.
